tumblr saturday #99

Happy weekend! I know this post is a little late in the morning and I've lacked some posts this week. My old laptop was having issues so I traded it in for a new one, and this new one has even more issues! I swear, I have am cursed with computers. Haha. (Even the guys at the store agreed). Without further ado, here are my faves floating around Tumblr this week:

mean girls monday: week 3

Splendid track pants | Etsy top | Madewell denim jacket | J. Crew loafers | Stella & Dot arrow and spike bracelets

Rather than choose a matching Juicy sweatsuit that celebs, moms, and The Plastics wore back in 2004 (okay, I also had a Juicy sweatsuit back in the day), I traded the velour sweats for track pants, complete with color blocking and even a drawstring waist - you know, if you eat too many Kalteen bars or something. The "you can't sit with us" tank top pays respect to the popular line from Gretchen Weiners. Top off the look with a pair of bright red loafers, and this look is casual-cool.

"There's a Mean Girls quote for everything," I like to say. To celebrate the movie's 10 year anniversary (it came out on April 30, 2004), I'm doing a series on Sunny Sweetheart called Mean Girls Monday, where I share an outfit inspired by a quote from the movie! While the classic quotes are 2004, the outfit will be "updated" to make it look fashionable in 2014. Check back for next week's Mean Girls Monday with a new outfit inspired by one of the iconic quotes!

lavender for spring

I've been loving the overload of lavender I've been seeing lately, especially through Tumblr or Pinterest (where I found these photos). I don't currently have much lavender in my wardrobe, but after seeing it pop up more often - it is Pantone's color of the year! - I'm getting inspired to begin adding it. It seems like the pretty pastel shades are being worn more often as we head into spring and closer to Easter...yay! Spring is finally on its way!

Happy weekend! Here are a few of my faves floating around Tumblr this week.
A fab fur coat.
Notice the Mean Girls accessories? ;)
So much color!
^Exactly my outlook on cooking...which is also unfortunate. (Maybe my future husband will like cooking...?)

gorgeous instagrams of the dc cherry blossoms

The cherry blossoms in Washington, DC have bloomed again and I am having serious FOMO for not being in the city during the (arguably) most beautiful time of the year. My friend April sent me this photo of the blossoms by the Potomac during sunset and I cannot get over how gorgeous it is.
